End of support for OneDrive sync app on Windows 10 22H1 and earlier

Microsoft is ending OneDrive sync app updates on devices running Windows 10 version 22H1 and earlier. Beginning in August 2026, those devices will no longer receive OneDrive sync app feature updates, bug fixes, or security updates. This change aligns OneDrive support with the Windows lifecycle policy and helps Microsoft focus ongoing investments on supported operating systems.

•  The OneDrive sync app will continue to receive feature updates, bug fixes, and security updates through October 10, 2028.

•  The OneDrive sync app will no longer receive updates. Existing installations may continue to function, but future functionality is not guaranteed.

• Organizations with devices running Windows 10 22H2 or later will continue receiving updates.

• Identify devices running Windows 10 22H1 and earlier.

• Upgrade devices to Windows 11 where possible.

• At minimum, upgrade devices to Windows 10 22H2.

• Communicate the change to end users and help desk teams.

• Inform users that OneDrive on the web remains available.

• Update internal support documentation.
